Repurposed Natural Fiber Clothing
I started Tatterworks from my love of sewing and fascination with the idea of reusing clothing to make colorful, fun, one of a kind pieces of wearable art. I shop at thrift shops and buy pre-loved items of natural fibers such as wool, cotton, denim, linen, and silk.
I am a one woman show, making everything myself. I love the interplay between texture, color, and pattern which makes designing each piece a challenge but so much fun. I have a huge stash of sweaters that I arrange by color and fiber and when one or two speak to me I pull them out and start mixing and matching the others. It can take days to get the right mix before I start cutting and sewing. I make coats, cardigans, tunics, ponchos, scarves and fingerless gloves. I want my clothes to make you happy.
