We’ll cover the basics of the science behind natural dyeing and learn about which plants can impart lasting color. We’ll go over growing your own dye garden, and sustainable practices for gathering dyestuffs in the wild. The workshop format is part presentation, and part hands-on experimentation with various dyeing techniques such as solar dyeing, immersion dyeing, and eco-printing. Each person will take home swatches of their naturally dyed fabric and yarn.
