Jill Tamminen is the owner of Knit Sisu knitting designs and instruction. The foundation of Knit Sisu is to encourage and uplift knitters through support, transparency, collaboration, & accessibility. Knit Sisu works with many yarn distributors, publishers, independent dyers, and local yarn stores in creating featured patterns, leading KALs and retreats, and hosting classes from beginner to advanced skills. Jill is a published designer, and has been featured with Malabrigo (2024 Dos Tierras KAL – Friendship Shawl), Knit Picks, Biscotte Yarns, Louise Robert Collection, and Laine Publications (52 Weeks of Accessories). Sisu is a Finnish word with which Jill was raised; it translates to having a quiet strength, perseverance, determination, and purpose. It’s rooted in gratitude and joy, and Jill brings Sisu to her needles and designs daily!
