$150.00
Fiber Arts Class with Instructor Marcia Weinert
Date: Friday, October 2
Time: Full day class begins at 10am
Cost: $150 plus $5 materials fee
Class Description: Your yarn is all spun—but what happens next at your wheel can make your finished item sparkle or sag. Let’s explore all the ways that plying can affect color, durability, texture, and ease of completion—whether you’re spinning to knit, crochet or weave! We’ll learn bracelet (or “Andean”) plying, chain (or “Navajo”) plying, and how to make and use a tensioned Lazy Kate for 3- and 4-ply yarns and MORE! After a break for lunch, we will tackle learning all the magic that can be created via cabled and crepe yarns—as time permits, even bouclés! Bring your wheel plus 4-5 bobbins, and any yarns (commercial or handspun) about which you have questions, and let’s explore how TRANSFORMATIVE plying can be!
