Vender Demo Schedule 2023

A number of our Marketplace Vendors have volunteered to showcase their talents, crafting abilities and/or fiber products for these brief demos. In addition to the scheduled demos, many vendors will be demonstrating in their booths

Each vendor demo will last 30 to 45 minutes – some will be hands-on – and some will offer kits for a fee. Vendor demos will take place in the Vendor Pavilion.

Are you baffled by short rows? This demo will show the benefits of short rows and how they’re used in garments. You’ll also learn the German short row technique. It’s easier than it looks!

“Hands-on Demo” – Botanical Bundle Dyeing with Wing & A Prayer Farm
Saturday at 1:00pm – Vendor Pavilion

In this mini-workshop, you’ll learn the basics of natural dye ss and take home a 100% Charmeuse Silk pillowcase, dyed by hand with plants grown and foraged in New England. We’ll use a combination of flowers, leaves and plant-dye extracts to create moody or vibrant patterns, images and colors.

Bundle-dyeing is an easy technique which can build a foundation for learning more and advanced dyeing techniques or simply to indulge in the wonders of nature. Though your silk will be pre-prepared for long-lasting results, the basics will be taught so that you will be able to explore on your own.

All plant materials are either homegrown or ethically sourced. Resources will be discussed.

Kit: $35 – includes pre-mordanted silk pillowcase and all materials to make your own botanically dyed pillowcase at home.

If you know the right techniques, needle felting is fun and easy. In this demonstration, we are going to explain needle styles and different types of wool, leading to a better understanding of felting.
